Ms Natonia Sylva assumed office on March 2, 2026.
The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Natonia Sylva as Manager - Marketing, Communications & Alumni Partnerships, with effect from March 2, 2026.
The newly established Marketing, Communications, and Alumni Partnerships Unit within the Office of the Principal marks a strategic shift towards enhanced visibility, greater efficiency, and sustained value for our stakeholders. Ms Sylva joins the unit as a results-driven leader with more than two decades of experience spanning brand management, digital marketing, communications, sales management and stakeholder partnerships. She has a proven track record of driving revenue growth, building brand equity, and delivering integrated, multiplatform marketing strategies.
Ms Sylva previously served as Deputy General Manager for Marketing and Sales at the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, following her tenure as Sales and Marketing Manager at Television Jamaica Limited. She has a Master's Degree in Marketing from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Jamaica.
Her commitment to industry standards is underscored by multiple Advertising Agencies Association of Jamaica (AAAJ) awards, including being named "Best Service Agent in Television", and leading Television Jamaica to a "Media of the Year" win.
Ms Sylva's appointment to the new unit aligns with the Mona Campus' restructuring efforts to better serve students, faculty and partners, while simultaneously enhancing its impact and visibility.
