School of Education celebrates Education Week 2026 - Webinar: Geopolitics and Implications for Schooling
The School of Education would like the wider UWI community to be aware of the events planned for Education Week 2026.  Please see attached flyers for circulation.  Please include the information below in the body:
The School of Education at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus will be hosting a series of events scheduled for Education Week May 4-8, 2026. We extend a cordial invitation to you to attend the sessions outlined below as we seek to address critical areas associated with schooling and explore innovative solutions under the theme "Building Educational Resilience: Empowerment, Wellness, Innovation & Global Impact".
 
May 7, 2026 – Webinar 2: “Geopolitics and Implications for schooling”
Time: 5:30pm
The webinar aims to: draw attention to the realities on the ground for educators living outside of Jamaica in different geopolitical spaces, discuss how issues like conflict and migration shape teaching and student experiences, and examine how geopolitical dynamics influence education systems, including policy, curriculum, and access.
