
The 20th International Conference on Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology (DESRIST 2025 ), hosted by the Department of Computing, UWI Mona and Mona School of Business and Management will be held June 2-4, 2025 and continues the tradition of fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among researchers, practitioners and policy makers.
This year’s theme is “Contextual Design Science Research: Local Solutions for Global Challenges”. The theme emphasizes the importance of developing solutions that are tailored to the unique needs and contexts of different communities while addressing broader global issues.
A special feature of the conference will be an Industry Workshop scheduled for June 2, 2025 under the theme ; “Building context specific AI solutions using Design Science” .
The future of Business is a partnership with AI. Practitioners must carefully assess current tools and invest in human-AI collaboration and continuous learning. In keeping with the theme of the conference, the workshop seeks to bring together Industry practitioners and academics to consider the global phenomena that presents considerable challenges and implications for local Caribbean Communities: Artificial Intelligence.
The mode of the workshop is designed to be interactive with facilitated group discussions anchored by a keynote presentation from Professor Sameer Verna, San Francisco State University, a leading expert on AI.
