- Development, Implementation and management of multimedia enabled lecture theatres.
- Support teachers in the use of Multimedia systems to deliver lectures.
- Ongoing support of lectures in the utilization of courseware development tools
- Preserving institutional memory by capturing and recording important aspects of University life in digital form
- Centralized fault and program logging
- Centralized service request logging
- First line resolution for all desk-top user problems – Office software , PC troubleshooting, user access issues…
- Customer satisfaction follow-up
- Student support for IT related (user) problems and queries
- Customer information, software announcements, virus information, infrastructure upgrades, service disruption announcements
- Point of contact for internet connectivity
The Instruction Support Services group is the single most important strategic unit. The intent is to consolidate/integrate the software, hardware and knowledge - all of the skills necessary – required for invigorating pedagogy and infusing technology into teaching, learning and research. This group is also to be the focus of multimedia courseware development support for both local and international use, work with lecturers to develop multimedia -enabled teaching skills as well as the utilization of the WebCT technology and Campus Pipeline portal to author and disseminate knowledge.

- all equipment requests should be made at least one week in advance
- all video conferencing requests should be made at least two weeks in advance
- requests for recordings (video / audio) should be made in at least three weeks
